David Alexandre Winter – Oh Lady Mary

Dutch-born pop singer David Alexandre Winter sings “Oh Lady Mary”, from his debut single released in 1969, the year he left the Netherlands to go to Paris.

It is actually a Turkish song named “Samanyolu” (English: the Milky Way) composed by Metin Bükey. French lyrics are written by Patricia Carli, the Italian-Belgian singer who won the 1964 edition of the Sanremo Music Festival, with the song “Non ho l’età” in partnership with Gigliola Cinquetti. The original Turkish lyrics written by Teoman Alpay. The song was popularized in Turkey by Berkant Akgürgen, simply known as “Berkant”. Here is the Turkish version below:
